The Société du Plan Nord (SPN) has announced a new Call for Projects for their Financial Support for Northern Initiatives program. The Program supports projects in the northern territory that promote:
- Community development;
- The development of the northern territory;
- Solutions derived from applied research.
The deadline to apply to the current call for projects is March 19, 2025.

About Société du Plan Nord
SPN’s mission is “to contribute to the integrated, coherent development of Québec’s northern territory in keeping with the government’s orientations and in collaboration with the representatives of the regions and the Aboriginal nations concerned and the private sector.”
As part of these efforts, SPN offers funding through the following programs:
- Financial Support for Northern Initiativess (Aide financière pour les initiatives nordiques), as detailed above.
- Financial Support for Training Northern Workers (Aide financière pour la formation de la main-d’œuvre en milieu nordique), which supports training projects of interest to northern communities.
- Financial Support to Promote Food Security in Northern Communities (Programme de sécurité alimentaire nordique), which supports community projects to produce fruit or vegetables for local or regional consumption and/or projects aimed at preserving or processing locally produced or harvested foods.
- Financial Support for Major Northern Projects (Aide financière pour les projets nordiques d’envergure), which addresses larger proejcts.
