You’re Invited! COTA’s 2024 AGM and Tourism Conference

Mark your calendars! If you are involved in tourism in the Cree Nation, you are invited to our Annual General Meeting on September 17 and our Tourism Conference on September 18, 2024 in Oujé-Bougoumou.

This year, you are also invited to stay for Indigenous Tourism Quebec’s Conference, taking place the morning of September 19.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to our two days of events, and having ITQ/TAQ join us in beautiful Eeyou Istchee for their annual conference and AGM.

What to Expect at the COTA Tourism Conference

The theme for this year’s tourism conference is Reconciliation – Both Journey and Destination: The Power of Indigenous Tourism. Here are a few things you will find in our action-packed agenda.

Inspiring Speakers

We’re bringing together the best of the best in tourism for our region, with presentations from the Indigneous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), Indigenous Tourism Quebec, and Oujé-Bougoumou Tourism. You will also have a chance to hear innovative Indigenous tourism entrepreneur Josée Leblanc share her story and key lessons for tourism business success.

Engaging Workshops

Our lineup of interactive workshops have something for everyone! We have top presenters sharing information on key topics such as marketing trends, reconciliation, sustainable tourism practices, cultural authenticity and more. You will be sure to walk away knowledgeable and ready to take your business or community’s tourism strategy to the next level.

Networking Opportunities

On the evening of September 19th, join us for a special networking event followed by the recognition awards ceremony. This is a perfect chance to connect with fellow professionals, celebrate achievements, and build valuable relationships in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.

The Indigenous Tourism Quebec conference is taking place the morning of September 19. They have invited all COTA AGM and/or conference attendees to stay for the morning portion.
